Philodendron erubescens x 'Dark Lord' is a climbing hybrid with broad, glossy leaves that shift from coppery new growth to deep maroon-black maturity, all carried on bright red petioles. Because the stems are vigorous and the leaves become larger with support, it performs best on a moss pole or other vertical structure rather than left unsupported in a pot. Under good indoor conditions it can exceed 1 m in height and spread, quickly turning into a strong dark focal point.
Bright, indirect light keeps the leaf colour richest, while a chunky aroid substrate and watering after the top 3–4 cm have dried reduce the risk of yellowing or rot. Humidity around 60–80% helps the foliage expand cleanly.
This is a toxic philodendron grown mainly for high-contrast dark foliage and strong climbing growth.
