Accessibility Statement
1) Introduction
We’re glad you’re visiting our website and thank you for your interest.
Below you’ll find information on how accessible our online offering is.
We explain:
- what you can expect from this website and which features are available,
- how you can use these features,
- which options are available to support accessible use, and
- which authority is responsible for monitoring accessibility on this website.
2) What this website offers and what you can do here
This website is an online shop for the sale of goods and digital content.
Goods are physical items.
Digital content, by contrast, consists of data or datasets created and provided in digital form.
Products are presented here and can be added to an electronic shopping cart, then ordered and paid for in a binding way.
This website has a header menu and a footer menu.
The header menu lists the products we sell by category, and you can open each category from there.
Each product is described on its own detail page with additional information about its key features, what’s included, and the total price. From there, it can be added to the electronic shopping cart.
Once you’ve added at least one product, you can also open the shopping cart via the header menu. From the cart, you can start and complete the electronic ordering process.
The footer menu contains links to our legal notice (Imprint) with our contact details, information on the legal basis of our online offering, delivery and payment options, and links to other helpful service pages.
3) How to use the website and its features
3.1 Virtual buttons
This website can be operated using virtual buttons.
3.2 Home, category overview, and product detail pages
On the home page, you’ll find a selection of products in the central area. By interacting with a product tile, you’ll be taken to the product detail page.
You can navigate between different product categories via the header menu.
After selecting a category, you’ll be taken to an overview page that displays all products in that category.
By interacting with a product tile on the overview page, you’ll again be taken to the product detail page.
Product detail pages include all essential information about the product and the total price, and may also include a quantity selector as well as an add-to-cart button.
If available, the quantity selector lets you set the desired order quantity.
3.3 Electronic shopping cart
By clicking the add-to-cart button, you add the product (in the selected quantity, if applicable) to the electronic shopping cart.
You can access the shopping cart at any time via the header menu.
There, you can first review the products you’ve added. Using the relevant buttons, products can be removed again or—where applicable—the order quantity can be changed.
3.4 Electronic ordering process
After reviewing your cart, you can complete the electronic ordering process by interacting with the relevant buttons.
You’ll first be asked to enter your contact details using an input form (at minimum: name, email address, and delivery and/or billing address).
Next, you can choose from the available delivery and/or service options.
Finally, you can select one of the available payment methods, enter the required payment details, and complete the order.
Your order becomes binding only when you click the designated button on the final order page. It is labelled “Buy”, “Buy now”, “Place order with obligation to pay”, or another equally clear wording.
Before clicking this order button, you can use your browser’s “Back” function at any time to return to previous steps and/or cancel the ordering process at any time.
If you chose an online payment method, you will be redirected from the final order page to the payment provider’s system to complete payment there.
4) Legal accessibility requirements
As an online shop, this website falls under so-called “services in electronic commerce” and includes an electronic ordering and payment option.
Special legal accessibility requirements apply.
In general, this website must provide features and processes tailored to the needs of people with disabilities and must allow use with assistive digital tools.
To achieve this, the online shop functions on this website must be designed to be:
- perceivable,
- operable,
- understandable, and
- robust.
Perceivable means that information and components of the online shop are presented so that all users can perceive them without difficulty.
Operable means that the online shop’s functions can also be used by people with limitations in mobility or cognition.
Understandable means that information and functions are logically structured, easy to recognise, and labelled unambiguously.
Robust means that the content and functions can be used reliably and without restrictions, including when users rely on assistive digital tools.
If products are offered for sale in the online shop that themselves have specific accessibility requirements, information on accessible use must be provided for those products—where available.
5) Available accessibility support
This website meets accessibility requirements through the following measures:
- Alt text for images: Images in the online shop include alternative text that provides a brief description and can be processed by screen readers.
- Accessible CAPTCHAs: To ensure inputs are made by a human, so-called “CAPTCHAs” may be used. These can be completed not only visually, but also by solving simple reasoning tasks.
- Mouse and keyboard operation: Online shop functions can be used via mouse and keyboard. Using keyboard control keys, the pointer can be moved and activated within the online shop.
- Browser-independent page output: Content and functions are available in the same arrangement, alignment, and resolution regardless of the browser used.
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): A programming language is used that separates the visual presentation (layout, colour, styling) from the content structure. This allows assistive technologies to apply their own visibility schemes when displaying page content.
- Verified correctness of HTML code: All HTML code is continuously checked for functionality to prevent failures and to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies.
- Sufficient spacing between characters: Characters are displayed with sufficient spacing to avoid reducing readability.
- Screen reader compatibility: The online shop’s content is compatible with common screen readers and can be read and processed by them.
- Responsive design (adapts to different screen sizes): Content, elements, and functions automatically adjust their dimensions to the screen size being used.
- Scalability (readable when zoomed): Page elements and content remain clearly readable and high-resolution even when zoomed.
- Strong colour contrast: A strong contrast between text and background colours is enabled by default to ensure optimal visibility of page elements.
- Text notices when required fields are missing: If required input fields are left blank, a text notice is shown in addition to colour highlighting. This notice explains which information is missing.
