Alocasia 'Bisma' is a silver-green Alocasia associated with West Kalimantan in cultivation. It has broad shield-like leaves, darker vein lines and a compact rhizomatous base that produces each leaf on a separate petiole.
The leaves can mature from pale green into cooler grey-green tones. Their smooth surface and darker venation give the plant a defined leaf pattern, especially when several leaves overlap at slightly different heights.
In cultivation, Alocasia 'Bisma' is recognised by cool grey-green blade colour, darker vein pattern and compact rhizomatous growth. The leaves give this Alocasia its cool silver-green tone and darker-veined surface.
Alocasia 'Bisma' needs even conditions: enough light to hold the pale leaf colour, warmth around the root zone and a breathable substrate that stays lightly moist when new leaves are forming.
This plant is toxic if chewed because Alocasia foliage contains calcium oxalate crystals. Place it safely away from pets and children that may chew foliage.
Alocasia is formed in relation to Colocasia, another aroid genus. The Bisma plant in cultivation is recognised by silver-green blades, darker veins and a compact rhizomatous base.
Broad silver-green leaves, darker veins and a soft metallic surface define Alocasia ‘Bisma’.
