Polyscias fruticosa 'Ming' is a slow-growing woody aralia with narrow, irregularly cut leaflets clustered along upright branching stems. The foliage creates a fine, lacy outline, while the stems gradually form a miniature tree-like structure that can be shaped by pruning. Its 1- to 3-pinnate leaves give the crown a dense, finely divided texture in a compact pot. Let the upper substrate lose some moisture between waterings, and protect the plant from abrupt cold shifts that often show as leaf drop.
