Ficus microcarpa 'Ginseng' is a nursery-made bonsai form built around a swollen root base and a grafted crown of small glossy leaves, giving it an instant sculptural silhouette without years of training. It behaves more like a compact indoor tree than a true wild growth form, and its tidy size makes it useful for desks, shelves, or low tables where a full ficus would feel too large.
Bright indirect light is best, with watering after the top section of substrate dries so the roots stay evenly supplied but never sit in stagnant moisture that leads to drop and rot.
Use a well-aerated mix, keep temperatures around 18 – 24 °C with moderate humidity, and note that the milky sap can irritate skin and is toxic to pets if chewed.
