Cissus discolor 'Violet Vine' is grown for slender climbing stems and ornate leaves with silver-green patterning, dark margins and violet to burgundy undersides. Like the species, it uses tendrils to grip support, so a small trellis or pole gives the vines a clear route upward. Keep it warm in bright filtered light with higher humidity and an airy potting mix that holds light moisture while releasing surplus water. Water again once the surface begins to dry. The thin leaves, coloured backs and refined vine habit show best with gentle airflow and even moisture during active growth on support indoors.
