Begonia maculata ‘Tamaya’ is usually trained as a small tree, with several upright canes carrying spotted angel-wing leaves and, in good conditions, hanging sprays of pink flowers. That tree-form habit sets it apart from other polka-dot begonias, because it creates a visible canopy and a cleaner vertical silhouette instead of a clump of canes at pot level.
Bright filtered light keeps the silver spotting and flowering potential high, while a sturdy pot, support stake, and airy substrate help the taller framework remain balanced. Water when the upper layer dries, but do not let the rootball swing between saturation and drought, and keep humidity moderate so the leaf edges stay cleaner. Regular shaping is part of growing it well: pinching and selective pruning prevent top-heaviness and turn a fast grower into an elegant, well-proportioned indoor specimen.
