Syngonium podophyllum 'Three Kings' ('Magic Marble') has broad arrowhead leaves broken into green, cream and grey-green marbling. Each blade forms a different balance of pale and green sections across the juvenile leaf shape.
It starts as a compact juvenile Syngonium and later develops longer stems that can trail or climb. Several rooted cuttings create a fuller base, while a slim support gives the nodes a route upward.
Young leaves are simple and arrow-shaped, which is the stage most often seen indoors. Older supported Syngonium stems can produce larger foliage over time, although regular pruning keeps the lower pot leafier. Cut stems above nodes, then root the cuttings to refresh the plant or thicken the base.
The pale marbling can brown faster than green tissue under direct sun, dry roots or mechanical damage while the leaf is unfurling. Bright indirect light and an open root zone keep new growth less prone to marks.
This plant contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals in its tissues. Keep it away from pets and children that chew plants, and handle cut stems with basic care.
Syngonium podophyllum is an accepted Araceae species from Mexico to tropical America, where the wild plant grows as a liana in wet tropical habitats. Syngonium refers to united floral organs, and podophyllum links to the foot-like outline of the leaves.
