Syngonium podophyllum ‘Pink Delight’ is more than just a pink-leaved aroid – it’s a colour journey. Young leaves open with a mix of green and blush, then mature into saturated pink tones with occasional soft mottling. This compact, climbing hemiepiphyte adapts easily to indoor life and rewards stable care with a steady display of unique foliage. In a 12 cm pot, plants are typically 20 – 25 cm tall with 5 – 8 leaves; mature foliage reaches 8 – 15 cm in length.
The species Syngonium podophyllum Schott is native to humid tropical forests from Mexico through Central America into parts of northern South America. It grows as a hemiepiphyte, rooting in soil before climbing trees toward dappled canopy light. ‘Pink Delight’ is a cultivated selection that does not occur in the wild.
Syngonium is derived from Greek syn (“together”) and gonē (“seed” or “reproductive organ”), referring to the fused ovaries of the female flowers. Accepted name: Syngonium podophyllum Schott (Araceae). ‘Pink Delight’ is a horticultural cultivar name used in trade.
All parts contain insoluble calcium oxalate. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and avoid ingestion or contact with eyes or mouth.
