Syngonium podophyllum 'Green Splash' ('Grey Ghost') grows with arrow-shaped leaves in muted green to grey-green tones and irregular darker or lighter green splashes. Individual leaves can show more mint, grey-green or darker mottling as the pattern develops.
This Syngonium keeps the climbing and trailing behaviour of Syngonium podophyllum. Young plants remain compact for a while, then stems extend from nodes and can be pruned, trailed or guided upward.
The green splash pattern can vary strongly between leaves. Some leaves may appear more mint or grey-green, while others show darker mottling across the blade. New leaves can shift in tone as they harden.
As a Syngonium podophyllum selection, 'Green Splash' can move from a compact juvenile plant into longer vining growth. A climbing pole can guide that growth vertically, while pruning above nodes keeps the pot denser and gives cuttings for propagation.
Syngonium podophyllum 'Green Splash' ('Grey Ghost') contains calcium oxalate crystals. Chewed leaves or stems can irritate the mouth and throat, so place the plant away from pets and children.
Syngonium podophyllum is an accepted Araceae species native from Mexico to Tropical America, where it grows as a wet tropical liana. This vining species produces rooting nodes and juvenile leaves that can become more divided on mature supported growth.
Let Syngonium podophyllum 'Green Splash' ('Grey Ghost') trail for a longer stem shape, or train it upward when the stems begin to lengthen.
