Schismatoglottis sp. Thailand is an as yet undescribed species collected from Thailand, making it a true rarity among aroid enthusiasts. Its foliage shows striking splashes of silver-green on a darker base, with each leaf forming a unique pattern. Compact in size and richly textured, this plant adds a bold, exotic accent to any collection.
While the precise taxonomy of this plant is still unresolved, its genus Schismatoglottis occurs widely in tropical Southeast Asia. These plants typically grow on shaded forest floors, often in moist, well-drained soils along rivers or in damp woodland. This explains their preference for moderate light and evenly moist substrates in cultivation.
The genus name Schismatoglottis comes from Greek: schisma (“separating”) and glotta (“tongue”). The “tongue” refers to the deciduous upper part of the spathe present in most species of this genus.
This undescribed aroid offers both rarity and beauty. Order Schismatoglottis sp. Thailand today and enjoy its shimmering foliage as a unique highlight in your plant setup.
