Epipremnum pinnatum 'Marble' has elongated green leaves marbled with cream and white. The pattern can show as cloudy patches, fine streaks or larger pale sections, so each leaf can look different. Leaves with enough green tissue usually grow more reliably than mostly white ones.
Its leaves are narrower and more elongated than the broader leaves of Epipremnum aureum 'Marble Queen'. Epipremnum pinnatum is a wet-tropical climber from tropical and subtropical Asia to the Pacific. Indoors, 'Marble' can trail from a pot, be pruned fuller or be guided upright.
The marbled pattern is naturally uneven. One leaf may have cloudy cream patches, while the next may show finer streaks or a stronger pale sector. Leaves with enough green tissue usually continue growing more reliably than very white leaves.
The vine can be shaped by pruning above healthy growth points. Regular pruning keeps a trailing plant fuller, while upright growth keeps the stems from becoming too loose.
Keep Epipremnum pinnatum 'Marble' away from pets and small children. Its tissues contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth, tongue and digestive tract if eaten, including from fallen leaves or fresh cuttings.
Epipremnum comes from Greek roots meaning “upon” and “trunk”, describing the genus’ climbing habit. Pinnatum means feathered or pinnate, linked to the divided adult leaves of Epipremnum pinnatum. 'Marble' refers to the irregular cream and white marbling across the green leaves.
