Epipremnum pinnatum 'Cintho Goldfinger' grows with elongated green leaves marked by yellow to golden streaks, cream sections and green areas. The pattern does not repeat neatly: one leaf may carry fine lines, the next a broader pale section, and another more green.
The flexible stems can trail from a pot, be pruned back for a fuller plant or trained upward on a pole, plank or trellis. When the vine is warm, rooted and receiving bright filtered light, the leaves usually sit closer together than on a loose trailing stem.
The golden and cream areas contain less chlorophyll than the green parts. The plant grows best with good light, warm roots and an airy mix, especially when new leaves have large pale sections. Cuttings with enough green leaf area usually root and grow more reliably than very pale pieces.
If a stem starts producing only green leaves, prune it back to a point where mixed colour is still visible. If a section is almost entirely pale, keep conditions steady and avoid taking weak, all-pale cuttings until the vine is well rooted and growing steadily.
Keep Epipremnum pinnatum 'Cintho Goldfinger' away from pets and small children, including fallen leaves and fresh cuttings. The plant contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, which can irritate the mouth, lips and digestive tract if eaten.
Epipremnum comes from Greek roots meaning “upon” and “trunk”, describing the climbing habit of the genus. The species name pinnatum means feathered or pinnate, referring to the divided leaf shape mature Epipremnum pinnatum can develop. 'Goldfinger' suits the yellow and golden patterning on the leaves.
