Epipremnum pinnatum changes dramatically as it climbs. Young plants carry relatively narrow, undivided leaves, while established mature stems produce much larger blades split deeply towards the centre vein.
This difference between young and adult growth is normal for the species. Indoors, a vine that is allowed to trail usually stays young for longer, while a stem attached to a textured support has a better chance of developing the characteristic mature foliage.
