Dieffenbachia ‘Big Ben’ produces large broad leaves with cream to buttery-yellow patterning across deep emerald green. Pale colour gathers through the centre as irregular marbling and bold patches, while a darker margin frames the glossy pointed blade. The finished blades are thick, firm and glossy.
The first leaves are smaller and greener, with their pale pattern compressed around the midrib. Later blades expand into much larger panels on which the cream separates into broad blocks, streaks and marbled sections.
Growth continues upwards on a sturdy cane, eventually lifting the leafy mass above visible lower stem. Size separates ‘Big Ben’ from compact Dieffenbachias: a developed specimen carries a tall, broad head of foliage, and its largest leaves show the strongest contrast between emerald borders and warm cream centres.
