Dieffenbachia ‘Amy’ has broad glossy leaves patterned in green, cream and soft yellow. Pale colour gathers around the midrib and breaks into feathered patches towards the darker margin.
Every oval pointed blade carries a different arrangement, while the smooth surface gives the layered variegation a polished finish. Each leaf opens tightly folded from the upper growth, showing more green before its cream centre broadens and clears. Fully expanded blades display the widest pale areas, framed by irregular deep-green borders and inward feathering.
Successive leaves raise the foliage along a thick cane, which becomes visible only after the lower growth has aged away. A developed plant therefore combines a substantial leafy top with shorter sections of exposed stem, while the newest greener leaf remains visible near the centre.
