Caladium 'Carolyn Whorton' has broad, heart-shaped leaves with pink centres, red veins and green margins. The pink areas become clearer as the leaf expands, while the green edge stays visible around the blade.
Its leaves show pink centres, red veins and green margins clearly. A strong plant fills the pot by sending up upright leaf stalks from the base.
When the plant has finished its leaf phase, yellowing can happen quickly. This is normal for Caladiums. Once the leaves are fully yellow, they can be removed, and the tuber should stay on the dry side.
Caladium 'Carolyn Whorton' has the same tropical aroid background as other cultivated Caladiums. Warmth, filtered light and an airy, lightly moist mix keep the pink leaves developing well.
Propagation is by tuber division. Use only mature, firm tubers, and keep one visible bud or growing point on each divided piece.
Keep Caladium 'Carolyn Whorton' away from pets and children. Its leaves, leaf stalks and tuber contain calcium oxalate crystals, which can irritate the mouth, throat, digestive tract and skin if plant tissue is eaten or handled after damage.
'Carolyn Whorton' is an established pink fancy-leaved Caladium cultivar.
