Alocasia sp. Sulawesi has elongated green leaves with a slightly velvety surface and a pale line along the edge. The pointed blades rise from the base on upright petioles, giving the plant a narrow, lifted outline.
The pale margin traces the shape of each leaf and makes edge stress easy to notice. When the air is dry, the substrate stays wet too long or the plant sits in harsh sun, the border can show marks before the rest of the blade changes.
Alocasia sp. Sulawesi grows as a warm, humidity-sensitive Alocasia with leaves that show stress clearly at the edges. The slightly velvety surface also makes dust, thrips marks and spider-mite stippling easier to spot.
Stable warmth, higher humidity and an airy substrate reduce the most common indoor stress signals. The leaves should dry quickly after cleaning, because moisture sitting on a velvety surface can leave marks.
Alocasia sp. Sulawesi is not pet-safe if chewed or ingested. Like other Alocasia plants, it contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth, throat and digestive tract.
