Epipremnum aureum 'Happy Leaf' ('Manjula') is a compact variegated pothos with broad, softly waved leaves in cream, pale green, yellow-green, mid green, and deeper green. The markings are patchy and flowing rather than sharply blocked, so each leaf develops its own mix of colour. It stays fuller and slower than standard golden pothos, with shorter spacing between leaves.
This plant grows as a trailing or climbing aroid vine. Its stems form aerial roots and can be guided onto a small support, left to spill from a pot, or pruned to keep the plant dense. Once stem cuttings have rooted well, they can be added back into the pot.
'Happy Leaf' is commonly sold as 'Manjula'. The slower growth and broad pale sections mean it should not sit wet for long or be placed in harsh sun.
'Happy Leaf' ('Manjula') has broad rounded leaves and soft cream-green marbling. The pale parts are more sensitive, while the greener parts support stronger growth. Very pale sections can mark first when the plant gets harsh sun, dry air from heating, mineral residue in the mix, or repeated dry-then-soaked watering.
If one vine turns much greener and grows faster than the rest, trim it back so it does not take over the pot. Regular pruning also helps keep the plant full instead of letting a few stems do all the growing.
Like other pothos, 'Happy Leaf' ('Manjula') contains calcium oxalate crystals. Ingested leaves or stems can irritate the mouth and gut. Keep the plant and cuttings out of reach, and wash your hands after pruning if the sap irritates your skin.
