On Dischidia oiantha variegata, the pale colour appears as cream to pale-yellow markings rather than a sharp white edge. The pattern varies from leaf to leaf, so each leaf can look slightly different.
It stays compact, with light pendant stems and a small root system. The pale sections can brown if the plant sits in harsh sun, dries unevenly, or receives too much fertiliser.
The species grows on trees in humid tropical conditions in the Philippines.
This form is usually grown as a small trailing houseplant, though active stems can also be guided onto bark or cork.
Cut stems may release white sap. Rinse hands after pruning or preparing cuttings.
“Variegata” refers to the pale markings on the leaves.
Dischidia oiantha variegata grows with pendant stems and cream to pale-yellow marked leaves.
