Dieffenbachia ‘Vesuvius’ has narrow, lance-shaped leaves scattered with pale speckles and short streaks. Olive to medium green forms the base colour, while cream and yellow-green markings rise through the centre and follow the veins. The long pointed blades create a sharper, more flame-like outline than the broad paddles typical of the genus.
Young plants show a slim upright profile, with the close speckling visible across each fresh leaf. As ‘Vesuvius’ matures, the foliage lengthens and the vertical shape becomes more pronounced, commonly reaching around 60 cm indoors and growing larger with time. Its distinctive character comes from proportion as much as colour: fine leaves, lively pale marks and a tall, energetic silhouette.
