Caladium 'Fiesta' has pale heart-shaped leaves with pink to red veins and green margins. The pink-red veins are easy to see against the pale blade, especially once the leaf has fully expanded.
This University of Florida cultivar comes from 'Florida Cardinal' × 'Florida Sweetheart'. It grows in warm conditions, then rests after the leaves fade.
Pale leaves mark quickly, so filtered light, warmth and an airy mix are important. Warm roots help new leaf stalks keep forming.
Caladium 'Fiesta' grows like other cultivated Caladiums: keep it lightly moist while it has leaves, then much drier once the leaves fade.
Caladium 'Fiesta' is propagated by tuber division. Divide only mature, firm tubers, and keep a visible bud or growing point on each section.
Keep Caladium 'Fiesta' away from pets and children. The leaves, leaf stalks and tuber contain calcium oxalate crystals, which can irritate the mouth, throat, digestive tract and skin if plant tissue is eaten or handled after damage.
'Fiesta' comes from the University of Florida Caladium breeding programme.
