Anthurium dolichostachyum
The stem extends from node to node, and new roots allow Anthurium dolichostachyum to attach as it grows. As the stem climbs a pole, slab or surrounding vegetation, new leaves emerge from successive nodes beyond the original pot.
Broad, firm blades sit on smooth rounded petioles. Their dark matte to softly velvety upper surface contrasts with a much paler underside whenever a leaf turns or hangs at an angle. Mature flowering plants may also produce a narrow flower spike that is notably long in relation to the foliage.
