Often called Velvet Cardboard Anthurium, this Mexican species develops unusually thick leaves with a dense velvet surface.
Individual leaves commonly reach 11–25 cm indoors, while the compact plant grows to about 60 cm high and 40 cm wide. Older foliage has stronger vein contrast, rounder lobes and a much more substantial texture than juvenile growth.
Anthurium clarinervium develops thick, matte leaves with a broad heart shape and bold white veins. Young foliage is soft, lighter green and comparatively thin. Mature blades become dark, firm and almost cardboard-like.
