Alocasia sp. Papua has fresh green leaves with pronounced back lobes and visible secondary veins. The veins run clearly across the blade and give the surface a firm, structured look.
New foliage opens from the base into broad green blades. As the leaves develop, the lobes and veins define a firm, clearly lobed shape.
Alocasia sp. Papua grows as a compact, warm-growing Alocasia with each new leaf produced from the basal growing point. The plant needs a stable root area because small Alocasia plants can react quickly to cold, dense soil or irregular watering.
A loose mix keeps water moving through the pot while holding enough moisture for new leaves to expand evenly. The lobed blades can mark at the edges when the air is dry or when the substrate swings too far between wet and dry.
Alocasia sp. Papua contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals. Keep the plant away from pets and small children, and avoid contact with sap from cut or damaged tissue.
