Alocasia scabriuscula has exceptionally thick grey-green arrow leaves above shorter spreading stems. The blades range from smooth to finely rough, while mottled green-brown colouring remains visible below them and adds a quieter pattern beneath the substantial canopy.
The reverse may become pale grey-green or deep purple as the leaf matures. Indoor plants commonly reach roughly 60–80 cm, while specimens in habitat or expansive conditions can approach 1.2 m. Later blades gain width, weight and a leathery feel. The mature plant brings the mottled stems, restrained colour and variable coarse surface together at a much more substantial scale.
Plant names, growth habits, natural habitats and indoor care guidance are checked against trusted botanical, habitat and horticultural references before publication.View our plant care resources and references.
