White, cream and pale green divide the glossy foliage of Alocasia macrorrhizos ‘Variegata’ into fine marbling, irregular mottling and broad half-leaf sectors. Strong central ribs and wide lobes continue through every colour, retaining the immense arrow shape.
Successive indoor leaves can grow close to 1 m while the plant rises beyond 2 m and develops a thick trunk-like base. Small juvenile marks expand into large fields of colour across the overhead canopy. Several mature leaves remain visible together, each carrying its own proportion of white, cream and green at a scale far greater than the variegation on a young specimen.
