Alocasia alba variegata shows cream to light green variegation across large sagittate leaves with a broad arrowhead outline. The pale patterning softens the green surface while the raised veins and strong basal lobes keep the foliage clearly shaped.
The accepted species Alocasia alba comes from wet tropical Indonesia, while this cultivated variegated form brings a lighter cream-green pattern into that robust leaf structure. Good drainage, steady warmth and filtered light are especially important as the plant develops larger leaves.
Alocasia alba forms broad sagittate leaves with gently undulate margins and a pronounced vein network. In the variegated form, cream and light green areas brighten the blade while the large leaf shape keeps a robust Alocasia outline.
The species is associated with wet tropical conditions where warmth, moisture and drainage occur together. In a pot, the substrate should hold some moisture while staying open around the roots, especially as the plant carries more leaf surface.
Alocasia alba variegata is not pet-safe. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth, tongue and throat if chewed.
Alocasia alba Schott is an accepted species in the Araceae. The species epithet alba means “white” in Latin. On this plant, the variegation is cream to light green.
