‘Apple Fantasy’ is a horticultural Aglaonema cultivar with cream-and-pink patterned foliage. Aglaonema is native from northeastern India through tropical Southeast Asia to New Guinea. Many species grow as evergreen herbs in humid tropical forest, usually under filtered light near the forest floor.

Care for Aglaonema ‘Apple Fantasy’

• Light: Medium to bright indirect light suits the green, cream and pink foliage. Keep strong direct sun off the leaves, as the paler areas scorch readily.
• Water and substrate: Let the upper 2–4 cm of mix dry, then water the whole root ball and let it drain. Use an open blend with coir or peat, fine bark and perlite or pumice so the lower pot does not stay saturated.
• Warmth and humidity: Keep the plant around 18–27 °C and away from cold glass or draughts. Normal household humidity is usually adequate; very dry heated air can contribute to crisp edges.
• Potting and handling: Use a pot with drainage holes, keep the grouped stem bases at their existing depth and support a petiole near its base when cleaning a leaf.
• Feeding: Feed lightly while new leaves are forming. Reduce the dose when growth slows and occasionally flush the substrate so fertiliser salts do not accumulate.
• Propagation: Divide basal shoots once they have roots of their own, or root healthy stem sections with nodes in warm, lightly moist substrate.

• Sunburn: Dry pale patches on the side facing the strongest light usually follow direct sun or heat through glass. Move the plant into filtered light; damaged tissue will remain marked, so judge improvement by clean new leaves.

• Cold damage: Grey, dark or greasy patches can appear several days after chilling. Move the plant away from cold glass or draughts, keep it steadily warm and remove a leaf only after the damaged tissue has stopped changing.
• Mealybugs: White cottony clusters and sticky residue can hide where the petioles meet the base.
