Rhipsalis baccifera subsp. horrida is a bristly Madagascar subspecies with ribbed cylindrical stems. Its narrow green stems carry dense, glassy to reddish-brown bristles that give the plant a rough, wiry surface.
The fine roots need air around them, while the ribbed stems respond best to filtered light and measured watering. In a pot, it forms a compact branching plant with hanging or spreading stems and a pronounced bristled texture.
