Rhaphidophora hongkongensis 'Mint' is a variegated form of Rhaphidophora hongkongensis Schott, with climbing stems and mint-patterned foliage. The leaf pattern can show pale green, mint or cream-toned sectors against deeper green tissue, depending on the individual leaf and current growth.
This species grows as a climber, producing rooting nodes that attach along a vertical surface. Its elongated leaves give the plant a slimmer climbing profile, with mint variegation carried along the extending stems.
Rhaphidophora hongkongensis Schott is an accepted species with a native range from Assam to South China and Indo-China. It is a wet-tropical biome climber, and its stems are naturally built to root along a surface.
The Mint form adds pale variegation to that climbing structure. Individual leaves may show different amounts of mint, cream or green depending on the growth point.
Rhaphidophora plants contain irritating calcium oxalate crystals. Keep Rhaphidophora hongkongensis 'Mint' away from pets and small children, and avoid sap contact with sensitive skin.
