Long, broad and dark leaves on three large Alocasias
Alocasia lauterbachiana sends up long, narrow blades with rippled edges. Alocasia wentii carries broad glossy shields, and ‘Regal Shields’ adds deep green, near-black foliage above maroon-toned undersides. Long upright petioles create a wide canopy above the pots, so the plants need clear space for new blades to unfold without rubbing against nearby surfaces.
