Phyllotaenium lindenii, still widely known under older Caladium or Xanthosoma names, is grown for sharply contrasting arrow-shaped leaves crossed by bold white veins on a deep green background. It forms a neat upright rosette from a subterranean stem rather than climbing, so the whole plant reads as graphic and controlled rather than sprawling.
Phyllotaenium lindenii prefers bright indirect light, evenly moist but airy substrate, warmth, and humidity high enough to keep the edges clean and the vein contrast strong. It is a good choice when you want strong pattern without marbling, silver, or pink, and it works especially well as a single-specimen focal plant in darker containers. Very clear, very bold, and far more structured than most patterned foliage sold as general houseplants.
