Philodendron squamicaule
Red-to-maroon scales densely coat the leaf stalks, making them visibly rough beneath each heart- to arrow-shaped blade. Burgundy colouring may also follow the main veins or spread across the lower surface.
Dry fibrous sheaths remain around older sections of the climbing stem, adding further texture beneath the foliage.
