Philodendron luxurians is a compact velvet Philodendron from the lower montane rainforests of Chocó (Colombia) and Esmeraldas (Ecuador), described in 2010 in Aroideana. This terrestrial to semi-scandent species is treasured by collectors for its thick, soft-surfaced foliage in deep emerald, marked by prominent silver-white primary veins. In nature it often grows on shaded, mossy slopes with consistent moisture, transitioning from a creeping juvenile stage to semi-climbing maturity when given vertical support.
