Philodendron gloriosum grows from a creeping rhizome and produces broad, heart-shaped velvety leaves with pale veins. The rhizome moves sideways across the pot surface, with new leaves rising from points along the crawling stem. A broad container follows this horizontal growth more naturally than a narrow upright pot. Mature leaves are rounded, softly textured, and strongly veined, with pale venation standing out against the deep green blade. Petioles rise from separate points along the surface stem, showing the plant’s creeping growth pattern.
