Philodendron 'Congo Green' is a compact self-heading hybrid with broad, leathery leaves in a uniform deep green, forming a dense upright rosette rather than a climbing vine. The glossy foliage and steady shape make it especially useful as a dependable floor or tabletop plant where you want a solid block of tropical green without variegation or constant pruning. Most plants reach around 60–100 cm indoors and keep their architectural look because the internodes stay short.
Bright, indirect light encourages stronger growth, while medium light is usually tolerated with a slower pace. Water after the top portion of the mix has dried, use an airy aroid substrate with bark, coir, and perlite, and maintain warmth plus moderate humidity for best results. It is toxic if ingested and grown mainly for glossy structure and reliability.
