Philodendron bipennifolium is the classic fiddle or horsehead philodendron, grown for deeply lobed green leaves that look more like silhouettes than simple tropical foliage. The plant climbs readily once given support, and that vertical habit is important because mature leaves become more pronounced and better shaped with height. Indoors it can reach roughly 1.5–3 m on a pole or trellis, while remaining much slimmer than broad self-heading philodendrons.
Bright, indirect light suits it best, though it can tolerate lower levels with slower growth. Watering after the top 2–3 cm of substrate has dried and using a loose aroid mix with bark and perlite help keep roots active without waterlogging.
