Philodendron billietiae has long, pendent green blades held on yellow-orange to orange petioles. The petiole colour appears early, while mature leaves lengthen and hang away from the stem with slightly wavy, ridged margins. Leaves often cluster near stem ends, where blade length, warm petiole colour, and open spacing become visible together. The long petioles give the plant a broad pot outline as it sizes up, with individual leaves suspended away from the central stem instead of sitting tightly against it. Older growth can look wide and airy even before the plant becomes tall.
