Monstera obliqua (Peru) is a delicate climbing Monstera grown for very thin green leaves with extreme natural perforation. The leaf surface often looks lace-like, with narrow tissue bridges around large openings and a fine, fragile texture. Because the plant contains calcium oxalate crystals, chewed leaves or cut sap can irritate mouth, throat and skin. Indoors it suits warm, humid conditions, bright indirect light and careful moisture around fragile leaves and stems. A fine pole or narrow support helps the vine grow upward while keeping the perforated foliage visible.
