Slender charcoal-coloured stems divide into numerous side shoots and form a compact centre before the flexible outer growth begins to trail. The framework stays visible between the small leaves and gives the plant a light outline.
Elliptic to lanceolate leaves sit at close intervals along those stems. Irregular silver mottling crosses the green surface, and occasional bronze tones add warmer colour to individual blades.
