The leaves of Hoya carnosa ‘Krimson Queen’ have irregular green centres surrounded by broad cream-to-white margins. The border changes width from one leaf to the next, giving each green centre a slightly different outline. New leaves may open pink or blush-red before the margins settle into their mature cream colouring.
Its flat, fleshy leaves have smooth surfaces and sit in opposite pairs along the vine. Young stems can hang or wind around a support, while older sections become firmer and carry longer runs of variegated leaves. Mature stems can also produce rounded clusters of pale pink to white, finely hairy flowers with darker centres and clear nectar. Their short flowering spurs remain on the vine and can bloom again.
