Epipremnum aureum 'Jungle Star' ('Marble Green') is a green-on-green pothos with heart-shaped leaves marked in lime, mid green, and deeper green. The pattern stays within green tones, with lighter and darker areas across the same blade. Indoors it grows as a trailing or climbing vine with steady extension when warm and well lit.
The stems can trail, climb, branch after pruning, or root from cuttings. Aerial roots help the vine grip a moss pole, bark board, or other textured support. With plenty of green in the leaves, growth is usually steady, but weak light can still stretch the stems and flatten the pattern.
Green-on-green Marble Green pothos

Jungle Star vine growth
The green pattern makes this pothos less fussy about pale-leaf browning. The usual warning signs are stretched vines in weak light, yellowing from a wet pot, and duller colour after low light, poor roots, or uneven watering.
'Jungle Star' ('Marble Green') has a subtle pattern with several green tones on each leaf. Enough indirect light helps the markings stay clear without exposing the glossy leaves to harsh sun.
Marble Green pothos care
- Light: A bright indoor position is best, with some tolerance for medium light. Strong direct sun can mark the leaf surface.
- Water: Water when the upper 20–30% of the mix has dried. Drain the pot well so the lower roots are not left in stagnant moisture.
- Substrate: Use a chunky, free-draining aroid mix. The roots should have air around them after watering.
- Temperature: Growth is strongest around 18–28 °C. If the room is cool, let the mix dry a little further before watering again.
- Humidity: Average indoor humidity is usually enough. Steadier humidity helps new leaves expand smoothly on climbing stems.
- Feeding: Feed lightly when the plant is growing. Reduce feeding if growth slows in cooler or darker conditions.
- Training and pruning: Let stems cascade or pin them to a support. Cut back long sections to encourage new side shoots.
Green pothos colour and growth checks
- Duller pattern: Check light, root health, and sun exposure. Very low light and harsh sun can both weaken the leaf colour.
- Thin stretched stems: Move the plant gradually closer to a brighter spot and cut back long bare sections.
- Yellow leaves: Feel the mix below the surface. Yellowing with damp substrate usually points to too much water or poor drainage.
- Brown leaf edges: Review watering gaps, hot air from heating, and fertiliser strength.
- Stalled growth: Check temperature, root space, and substrate condition. Cool rooms and compacted mix slow vine extension.
