Dracaena zeylanica 'Narrow' is a slimmer-leaved selection of bowstring hemp, keeping the dark green banding and upright habit of the broader form but with a lighter finer texture. It suits narrow spaces especially well because the foliage gives height without the same heavy block of leaf surface seen in wider snake plants. Indoors it forms an upright clump from rhizomes and gradually spreads, while staying drought tolerant and slow enough to manage easily.
Bright indirect light sharpens the banding, though shade is tolerated, and watering should be infrequent, only after the substrate has dried fully. Use a free-draining succulent mix, keep temperatures around 18–27 °C, and avoid frost or long periods of wet soil. Like other Dracaena in this group, it is toxic if pets ingest the leaves.
