Dracaena reflexa var. angustifolia 'Sunray' has long, narrow leaves with yellow centres and green borders. The yellow runs along the length of the leaf. Like other narrow-leaved dragon trees, it grows from upright woody canes.
Leaves gather at the cane tips, and older stems become more visible with age. 'Sunray' stays narrow indoors, but it can gain height over time. Pruning keeps taller canes manageable and can encourage new shoots below the cut.
'Sunray' is also sold as Dracaena marginata 'Sunray'. It is a cultivar of Dracaena reflexa var. angustifolia, the narrow-leaved dragon tree still widely sold under the older Dracaena marginata name.
Dracaena reflexa var. angustifolia 'Sunray' is toxic if ingested. Keep it away from pets and small children, and remove fallen leaves or cut stem pieces.
Angustifolia means narrow-leaved. The cultivar name 'Sunray' matches the yellow centre stripe.
