As the stems lengthen, the leafy heads open out above them and can sit at different heights on the same plant. An older plant becomes tall and full, with most of the leaves gathered around the tops of the stems.
Give the mature crowns a little side room as they widen. For homes with pets, place ‘Burley’ above pet chewing height. The foliage is toxic if eaten.
