The variegated form of Dischidia ruscifolia is made up of tiny heart-shaped leaves edged in cream. The green centre is smooth and slightly succulent, while the narrow pale border traces every rounded lobe and pointed tip. Closely spaced pairs turn the fine stems into delicate chains of miniature hearts, each only a small part of the overall trailing texture.
New growth can open pale cream-green and may show a soft pink tint before the centres darken. As the plant branches, the small leaves gather into a dense, finely patterned cascade. The stems remain slender and the mature foliage stays compact, giving the plant a much lighter scale than broad-leaved Dischidias. Small white flowers may appear along older vines, nestled close to the leaf pairs.
