Dieffenbachia seguine 'Cheetah' is a cultivar that lives up to its name: a foliage pattern reminiscent of wild spots and splashes, fresh green leaf blades streaked and dotted with yellow. Compact in form but dramatic in appearance, it’s a true statement piece for collectors who value bold patterning. Easy to keep indoors, this cultivar thrives with little effort while adding a touch of tropical flair to modern interiors.
Unlike standard Dieffenbachia varieties with uniform leaves, 'Cheetah' produces a vibrant mottling that feels almost animal-inspired. Its foliage contrast is stable and develops consistently with new growth, giving you a reliable showpiece plant.
The species Dieffenbachia seguine is native to the shaded rainforests of Central and South America, where it grows as a perennial with cane-like stems. 'Cheetah' is a horticultural cultivar bred for its extraordinary variegation, bringing a jungle-inspired look into cultivated interiors without the massive size of wild types.
Like all Dieffenbachia, 'Cheetah' contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if ingested. It may also cause skin irritation. Always position the plant out of reach of pets and children.
The genus Dieffenbachia was named in honour of Johann Karl Ernst Dieffenbach (1811 – 1855), a German physician, geologist and naturalist. The species Dieffenbachia seguine was originally described as Arum seguine by Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin and later transferred to the genus by Heinrich Wilhelm Schott in 1829. The cultivar 'Cheetah' continues this lineage with a modern ornamental twist.
Bring home Dieffenbachia 'Cheetah' and enjoy foliage that feels both wild and refined. Secure this rare cultivar now and let its spotted leaves elevate your plant collection.
