Dieffenbachia seguine 'Banana' is grown for near-solid yellow-lime foliage edged in softer green, creating a cleaner, more colour-led effect than heavily marbled cultivars. Mature plants usually reach around 80–120 cm tall and up to about 50 cm wide, rising on a sturdy cane with elongated glossy leaves.
It grows best in bright indirect light, with watering timed after the top 3 cm of substrate have dried, and it benefits from an airy mix that drains well while still holding some moisture. Keep temperatures around 18–26 °C, avoid dropping below 15 °C, and aim for moderate humidity around 50–70% for the best leaf finish. Monthly feeding and stem-cutting propagation are both supported by the source, and calcium oxalate in the sap means it should stay out of reach of pets and children.
