Bronze new leaves emerge from a creeping rhizome and gradually harden to deep green. Anthurium radicans produces compact heart-shaped leaves with a deeply quilted surface. New foliage may open bronze or reddish and initially appears smoother. As it hardens, the blade turns deep green and develops raised ridges with sunken channels.
Mature leaves remain relatively small but become thick, glossy and strongly textured. The plant spreads gradually and can reach about 40 cm high and 60 cm across. Older specimens carry foliage at several stages, showing the change from soft coppery growth to dark, heavily puckered mature leaves.
